Vulcan Events and its popular auxiliary fan convention Away Mission are fast becoming a Florida fan con institution. Long a draw because of A-list talent like Sir Patrick Stewart, Christopher Lloyd and Scott Bakula, this convention may have begun as a Star Trek convention but has grown in diversity and size for several years. Steampunk, horror and epic fantasy co-exist in exquisite harmony with Vulcans, Klingons, Browncoats, Time Lords and Daleks.

Between panel appearances, Kathy will be available for book signings and interviews in the celebrity signing room. So stop by and say hello.

Saturday, October 6th:

10:00 a.m. “The Universe is Full of Diversity and Your Characters Should Reflect Such.”

Kathy is a guest panelist at sci-fi author William Hatfield’s in-depth look at character development for aspiring authors.

12:00 p.m. “Beam Me Up Scotty: This is Not the Future I Was Looking For.”

Kathy is again a guest panelist at sci-fi and fantasy author, actor and voice actor Glenda Finkelstein’s intriguing discussion about 21st century predictions made by futurists past. Still waiting for my flying car!

1:00 p.m. “True Blood vs The Walking Dead.”

Kathy hosts an audience team trivia that pits True Blood fans against Walking Dead lovers. The winning team gets first drawing rights to prizes, but both teams will get a chance to draw and win.

3:00-5:00 p.m. Book Signings

Sunday, October 7th:

12:00 p.m. “Grimm vs Once Upon A Time.”

Multi-talented celebrity authors Glenda Finkelstein and William Hatfield return the favor of guest paneling as Kathy hosts another audience team trivia, this time pitting Grimm fans against OUAT lovers. The winning team gets first drawing rights to prizes, but both teams will get a chance to draw and win.
